Pride Toronto is a not-for-profit organization that celebrates the history, courage, diversity and future of Toronto's LGBTTIQQ2SA* communities. They support their communities in the pursuit of their unequivocal rights to be known, be heard, be understood, be accepted, be respected, and to celebrate the beauty of who they are.

The Challenge

Like many other organizations, when it came time to host their Annual General Meeting (AGM), Pride Toronto would traditionally host an in-person, panel-style event. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Pride Toronto needed to explore different options of holding their Annual General Meeting to comply with public health guidelines.

Pride Toronto saw restructuring their Annual General Meeting to adhere to public health guidelines as an opportunity to review and revamp their processes in hopes of improving the efficiency of their upcoming meeting.

After deciding that holding their meeting virtually would be the best course of action, The Pride Toronto team began their search for a solution that would make hosting a virtual Annual General Meeting simple, while simultaneously streamlining the process in hopes of improving meeting efficiency.

The Solution

Shortly after they began their search for the 'perfect' solution, Pride Toronto was introduced to GetQuorum by one of their members.

The member shared how GetQuorum had recently facilitated their Condominium's virtual AGM and expressed how simple and efficient the process was.

Intrigued by what they heard, Pride Toronto decided to outreach to GetQuorum and see if they could help them with their upcoming Annual General Meeting.

After being walked through the hosted virtual meeting processes, Pride Toronto was impressed with what they saw.

The solution was precisely what they were looking for; a secure, user-friendly, and reliable platform to ensure their first-ever virtual AGM ran smoothly throughout the entire process. And while pleased with the platform, what really stood out for the Pride Toronto team was GetQuorum's full-service approach and the expertise that their team had demonstrated throughout their encounters.

The GetQuorum team was knowledgeable and experienced; they answered all of the Pride team's questions and shared the best practices to ensure that their meeting would be a success.

Their full-service approach also meant that Pride Toronto would have GetQuorum's team of experts readily available to them for more than just handling the technical side of the meeting. From their own virtual meeting manager that would manage their notice distribution process to their own in-meeting moderator for their virtual AGM, GetQuorum's team would be supporting Pride Toronto throughout the entire Annual General Meeting process.

The Result

Once the meeting concluded, there was a unanimous consensus from lead organizers; this meeting was one of the most successful Annual General Meetings to-date.

Overall, the meeting ran smoothly; all motions were passed, and board member elections were conducted efficiently.

GetQuorum's team of experts accommodated Pride Toronto's unique needs, met fluctuating deadlines, and were able to troubleshoot problems effectively throughout the process to ensure the meeting ran on-time and as planned.

"GetQuorum exceeded expectations and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met for running Pride Toronto's AGM." stated Bobby MacPherson, Director of Operations, Pride Toronto. "Their level of professionalism, organization and attention to detail was extraordinary, and we look forward to working with GetQuorum again."

Looking ahead, Pride Toronto foresees the use of GetQuorum's services for future Annual General Meetings.

The simplicity and efficiency that came as a result of utilizing GetQuorum's solutions, paired with their teams' expertise and support throughout the process, is viewed as a large contributing factor in their AGM's success, which they'd like to see replicated in the future.
